The Office of Management and Budget has extended its approval of Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) to August 31, 2012, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced. Consequently, USCIS has amended the form to reflect a new revision date of August 7, 2009.

The Los Angeles Times reports today that L.A. County is looking at requiring the use of E-verify for all of it’s contractors. This is just another municipality across the country that is looking at using the free online system to check the employee’s legal status and work eligibility.
